The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert cautioning that a shoulder closure is expected in both directions on the parkway at exit 12 (East Lincoln Avenue) beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 5.

The closures are expected to last daily from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Pelham and Mount Vernon through Thursday, Aug. 29. During the construction work, motorists should expect to run into delays.

According to the NYSDOT, “Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.  In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.”
